After a stint making documentaries for the BBC and Channel 4, ANDY LAMBERT moved into drama with two short films: The Accidental Conspiracy, for Film London, a comedy-thriller that takes paranoia to its absurd limits; and More is Less, for the BFI & Channel 4, featuring Eddie Marsan in a comedy about a young couple who are struck with ‘option paralysis’ on a Saturday night.

Andy then broke into advertising, working for a string of top companies including Partizan, Blink, HSI and 76 Ltd. He carved a name for himself as a director of stylish, witty commercials with big, cinematic production values for top brands such as Nike, Guinness, Nokia, The National Lottery, MasterCard, E.On, Three and Honda

As well as making cinematic-inspired ads, Andy also feels equally at home with more intimate smaller stories, observational ads and vignettes, always relishing the opportunity to run with a captivating idea, adding atmosphere and wit where ever he can.

Since signing with John Spary Associates, Andy has been in demand with ad agencies all over the world shooting for clients such as Mastercard (Singapore),  Citibank (Russia), Coca-Cola (Egypt), Iglo (Germany), Celcom (Malaysia), and McDonalds (China). His versatility makes him well-suited to a wide-range of projects which he manages to elevate with his droll, savvy, cinematic sensibilities and sharp eye for detail.

Outside of advertising, Andy is also the creator of a unique web series called The MUTE Series, in which each film is made according to a set of three strict rules: 1) no dialogue  2) no camera movement  3) only one shot.  This deadpan series was awarded Best Web Series at the Buenos Aires WebFest as well as earning a coveted Vimeo Staff Pick. Tubefilter said “Funny, thoughtful, and surprisingly twisty…The MUTE Series represents the spirit of digital content” and APAR.tv said “Hilarious… this series has understood what the post-aesthetic treatment of the 21st century is going to be.”
